Here in god's country (northern Beaches) we have a 2-3 meter south swell at 13-16 sec period. Had fun DY point head high to 1 and 1/2 head high with Matty and a fair crew. Heaps of waves though.

Swell heading north at a rate of knots!!!

Anyone else getting waves today?

Huey waited for the 9-5'rs to disappear before bringing it on up here. Just scored solid triple overhead waves at a break called 'clouds' that only breaks when big. The Bombora Chaser finally got wet with a thruster setup, blackstix2 and 4.5 performance, it rode great and handled some big cranking turns no trouble at all.
I know somewhere that would of box all time today with the NE'r coming up. Didn't anyone surf it?

To NewcastleSUP Just back from a session there myself and I must say that a lot of toher people had the same idea......at least 25 to 30 people in the water and it was far from classic. A shame. Seems more size is hitting the Dee Why end of the beach for some reason. Oh well at least we have waves for a change!!!

Yeah, just come back myself from Butterbox. I shoulda gone to DY point which has doubled since this morning - wind looked a bit strong from NE but has backed right off now.

Paddled accross to 2nd Bombie which was double + overhead and tested the limits of the little Laguna. My next board is a 9 4 gun!! As I was coming in I saw another SUP rider take the best wipeout I have seen to date! He dropped in late on a near triple overhead screamer, pulled up too high on his backhand as the lip threw out over his head and took him over the falls

If anyone surfed a certain kilometer + long left today - I don't want to hear about it!!!!!

The looong left was no good saw lots of big sharks and there was no swell, you would do better to stay at your beach break.

And I've heard a few comments from other surfers (non SUP) that were not impressed with the SUPers out there:

"Im going out on a limb here..surfed Box Head today and came to 2 conclusions re modern surfing. First is regarding SUP's. Experience there today plus prior observations confirmed that 70% of SUP's are greedy...the other 20% are just dangerous or inexperienced....10% are respectful...bad ratio."

we all have know that feeling....when i was a grommy and there was that Old Mal dog who used to paddle out and get every set because he could paddle into them before me. frustrated the **** out all the grommys. then there was some of the best locals, who would hoot us onto waves and let us have some sets.
They had the ability to get every wave and rip the crap out of it, but they chose to
give it away to us every now and then. The mal guy didn't and he was very much disliked.
Just because we have the ability to get the best wave of the sets, because we can see them coming and can get them 20 metres early, does not mean we should.
I have surfed all my life, and whether on a shorty or SUP if I have waited my turn, shown respect and in proirity I will take it.
But these days when I am SUPing I used the 3rd wave of the set rule. Let a few go every now and then.
Unfortunately it is the few that give us a bad name, and if I see it in the water, I will make sure I let them know.
Rant officially over now.....

Vibe on second peak was good - not an ounce of aggro.
Looked pretty cramped and tight on main peak so we stayed away.
Plenty of wide ones for everyone.

Thats not good at all coming from a fellow sub rider, your probably right though
I reckon the real worry here is the 20 % inexperienced, someone will get killed by a sub one of these days, and then we will really be popular
