Was it the huck towel..
The trick with the ends of the RSPro is to pull the end wings inboard slightly away from the edge..
It looks like it might wrinkle but it's so ply-able [like the rail tape] it smooths out without wrinkling..
Not doing this can result in the edges at the end sticking out slightly and catching/pealing..
I saw someones paddle done like this recently and thought I'd make this vid so others don't do it..
I've used Nitto electrical tape for years and it's cheap and works great..
I've replaced damaged Nitto tape dozens of times and it's only ever damaged on the bottom and sometimes up near the sides [the widest part of the blade] and I've never seen it damaged or worn up towards the neck.. besides it's often the neck area that lifts or becomes unstuck..
I think the RSPro stuff covers plenty of the blade and looks better and lasts much longer than electrical tape..
My bike is a BMW boxer twin R1150R... I love it.. Here's a couple of pics from a ride with some mates last week..
