If I am right, the answer is quite ironic.

I really think I was one of the first to windsurf it many moons ago..
As far as SUP I have not done it at Bells (yet) but my guess would be maybe Aussie Laird. (Wes)

Yes!
Well as far as I know Jeff Sweeny may have been the first.
As we know, he certainly SUP,ed Bells on a regular basis way before anyone else.
For those who don't know the "developer" of Bells, it was his father Joe, I believe the story is he collected some money from his mates & hired a bulbozer to cut a track to Bells.
There is some dipute about the claim who first surfed Bells though, another surfer of the time, Marcus Shaw, who was my PE teacher along with Joe, my wood work teacher at Geelong Tech, argued about it then, about 1970 or so.
As for Jason, well I was SUP,ing down the Anglesea river last year & stopped to chat to the guy who runs the paddlo's near the bridge. (Jasons ex bank manager)In conversation he mentioned that Jason SUP,ed in the river here some 10 years ago, so he may well have been the first at bells?

Simon Anderson? Taking the irony angle-being the true father of the modern shortboard and all.....

I remember seeing footage of Brendan Morgan wavesailing Bells in between heats of the Rip Curl comp in about 1990. I assume we was allowed to as a Rip Curl sponsored sailor at the time.

Anyone know what Brendan Morgan is up to these days... and also his dad Pat?
Brendan is a pretty good long board surfer and I would imagine he'd be great on a SUP board also.
