NSW State Titles are $77. The cost must be directly correlated to the unrealness of the state in which they are held!

Maybe or is it to discourage newbies.
so let me get this straight you pay $50-$70 (I'm guessing) to join surfing N.S.W and then a further $77 for one event a year.

Yep, $56 to become a (required) member of Surfing NSW, then $77 per division at the titles (I'm going in the Over 35 and the Open) - I'm up for $210 in entry fees!

How can NSW have different age divisions when QLD doesn't don't the winners then qualify for the Aussie Titles
(which will be won by QLD BTW)

Only the open division qualifies.

You guys only win the Aussies because of your pro longboarder 'ring ins'

If Aussie titles don't have age divisions, why would N.S.W titles have it?
might be just milking you casso
Sorry it could be the unrealnessness

Why not have age divisions? Means us old farts have a marginally better chance of getting through a couple of rounds.

It is also because of the extra unrealness of NSW!!

you will likely win the bloody thing you old fart you should only be allowed in the over 35,s to give us young newbies a chance i recon
Would be funny who was left in the opens if over 35 old guys werent allowed in likely a final only as not enough entrants?

Agree entirely with all of the above, except maybe the unrealness bit If you look at the age demographic of this sport I'd be prepared to put money on the fact that most of us are over thirty five. Sure there are some whippersnappers who compete and they will undoubtedly feature heavily on the podium at the Aussies. But if Surfing Australia is serious about being inclusive to Stand Up there needs to be divisions to best represent the age of the majority of participants. Have heard the argument that because we are a new sub set we have to wait, stand the test of time, before we get our own age divisions. WTF for!! We arent going anywhere and we are raring to go right now!!
Cheers

I'll jump onto this one!
Couldn't agree with you more Sparx, the time is now,the over 35 demographic represents the majority of participants as well as the majority of recreational Sup riders in Australia, ill even go so far as to say that most of them pushing over 40, myself included . We all pay to enter, we all pay to be members of Surfing Victoria/ Australia, please include us and represent us.

Leon.

Yes there is heaps of longboard divisions to give every punter a go, if anything the old guys {supping} were the ones that took to the sport fiirst. - More money for surf australia and memberships if they have another age group, especially in the mens. Supposedly they represent us ,yet to see them put themselves out unless they get fully buffed . That is one money grabbing entity of the boys club of surfing. Once again the blinkers are on , they dont even know the age group doing the sport ?

Just put in an email to Surfing Queensland asking for a over 40's , why don't we band together and use the power of Seabreeze. The Noosa Surf Fest is a good example with the over 45's filling very quickly with a very long waiting lists. So the numbers are there no agruement.

stupid question for a simple mind. Are you better of joining supsa or surfing Queensland. If they run different comps why have both organisations ? Should they not help each other? From what i have read they supposedly seem to help, so why do you have to join different orgs? Supsa seems to be well represented yet you cant be a member of them and compete at this event? or can you? Why dont they have a grom section? As i said i am simple

Great idea Rob, will shoot one off today.

Hey do you know which end of the Sunny coast they are planning to run it? Thinking of organising a holiday around it.

Sounds like the start of something big.
Piros has the right idea, the more that lobby the better.
I'm betting theres a lot of sup surfers out there that are middle age.
They deserve their own age group

GOOD NEWS ALREADY just recieved a phone from Chad at Surfing Qld , I sent this link and he agrees there is definelty a strong demand for over 35's or 40's so it will be included for this years Queensland titles BUT NOT the Aussie titles however it will be recommened for 2012 so looking good.

Get those fingers pumping and get the message to Surfing Australia in your state.

Remember send this link with your email.
