Can anyone shed some light on this for me?? About 6 months ago I brought a quickblade slimline 8". Then tried to buy a slimjim 7.8" soon after and was told they were discontinueing the model.. It seems the slim line is now called a slimjim and there is no slimlines..

I'm lost.... All I want is a smaller quickblade for surfing why is it so hard??

What happened some of the paddles coming out were not exactly those measurements as they are hand finished and people were sending them back , so Jimmy has changed the way they are named , I just got the Kahana AC 100 which basically is the 8" paddle face converted to square inches. (head length x overall tapered width) Clear as mud.

BTW this is the one you want for surfing.IMHO.

The feather weights are around 83sq" but are only for lighter riders to 150lb.

(disclaimer I'm nothing to do with QB)

Hey Belly, yes there were two models originally (7.75 and 8" wide).

Jim Terrell decided to go with one, the 8" and called it the SlimJim. It is 100" in surface area and is an all-round surfing paddle. It has a bit more grunt than most surf specific paddles.

Casso's did a review last year (before it was renamed to the SlimJim).

Haha good one Tim.. Hanging for the good DWers to start up again.. Starting to get unfit..

Thanks AA, the original 8" slimline is what I have so looks like I'll be sticking with it......unless there is any of the smaller ones hiding anywhere??

Sorry I didn't call you back AA that msg just reminded me that I needed to call you back.. The 8footer is great fun.. Haven't used it as much as I would have liked to, but in smallish waves (to head height) it shreds.. The 8.9 ripper might be my next board for head height till the gun comes out and barrel riding..replace the JL mano.. Abosolutely loving the PSH boards

Sucks to hear about the ear Hilly.. Doesnt look like your missing much this week anyways..
