Hey all,

I want to get A SUP that I can paddle with my grom.
Something stable and relatively easy to paddle as we will only really be riding small stuff and prob across the beach as much as in the line up.
Any suggestions. Cheaper is good lol....

Cheers

My 2 cents,

I agree with DJ for what you want to do NSP 11 or maybe a Kalama 11'6 they are very cheap at the moment an there are a few around second hand as well!

Or as Robbo says go custom!

Also gotta agree with DJ - try the nsp 11'0. Brand new $1500 with a paddle and they are light and very very stable and have a carry handle for the kids/wife to carry. There are also a few starting to appear second hand so you may pick one up for even less. Customs are awesome and when you have maybe had a board like an nsp for a while and know exactly what you want then for sure start talkin to some of the better sup shapers aroung the country. (in qld guys like dale chapman and tully st john at laguna bay - not up on nsw sup shapers but sure there will be some good ones)

good luck with it and remember the best sups when you are starting out are borrowed ones. (in other words try as many as you can before you buy)

Hey Troy,

I've got "The Tiger" up for sale. It's an 11'0" Oxbow Cruiser and is perfect for your needs. Super stable, great for little surf and will take a grom on the nose. It'll be great as you advance your skills too - I've ridden it in all conditions from 1ft to 6ft waves, surf competitions (it got third place in 2008 Snowy), flat water fun and flat water races.

Here are some pics of the board:

I'm just in Mona Vale if you want to check it out.

Interested parties can PM me for the price.

It doesn't have a handle but an aftermarket stick-on one would work a treat, if required.
