Yeah, but with a bit of planning it is easy to stay out of the wind. The RMYC faces west and there are plenty of options in the sheltered bays of Pittwater to lay a decent course that is out of the wind. The race starts late -9.30 and the wind is to predicted to drop from 8am.
Maybe we will just do a down winder to Elvina bay! Plenty of spectator boats to bring us back!
Demo list AA or JB? Few people interested in latest 10' models from Naish and Sunova.
Marty we will have the 10' x 29 and the 10'6 x 30 SUNOVA for Demo and I have hard on the grapevine that JB may bring the new 10' Nalu out of its bag!
Maybe we will just do a down winder to Elvina bay! Plenty of spectator boats to bring us back!
Great effort and thank you AA, RMY Club, sponsors and all the crew. The race was challenging but manageable for all.
The demo and sprint areas are so protected with some very interesting new boards to sample. Lots of smiles from the punters and Balmoral Sup staff. Fun family event.
Bummed I had to leave early. Results?
Really like the idea of trying to create a series or at least make sure so many events do not clash next year.
If you added all the participants from the four events I know of on Sunday it would make an very impressive total.
Agreed, was a great day! Don't know what was rougher though, me or the start…! Really enjoyed it and very surprised that i only fell off when i crossed the line. And incorporating the event into a race series is an inspired idea. Would be good to see the results of both the race and the raffles too.
Thanks to all the organisers, vendors and sponsors for a top day out! I look forward to being less hung-over next year!
Thanks Guys we all appreciate the feedback! It was another fun day!
Great to see all those kids and families after the race playing around on the demo boards and having a crack at the Time Trials!
Everyone from the club to the sponsors and those who I spoke too on the day expressed how much they enjoyed the day and that they will all be on board again next year.
Our first priority will be the dates and we well underway coordinating this with the other events.
Then we can put all our energy into taking the fun factor to another level for next year.
Thanks to everyone who participated and paddled their hearts out.
Special thanks to the RMYC who went out of their way to make everything run smoothly and safely and the sponsors who were so generous with prizes.
Plenty of pics to come - just need a night to sort through them!
There are 2 trophies waiting at Balmoral Paddlesurf for Dave Kissane and Marty.
Thanks for organising a great day. Super venue to have a paddle, try some boards and enjoy a big breakfast
Hi AA. The Forster event and Harry's will have their dates for 2016 out in a fortnights time. Forster is looking around Feb 7 at the moment pending council permits. Harry's will have definite dates in a week or so. The events will be a number of weeks apart in order for people to budget for weekends away and organise time with work. We are not running back to back weekends as this would stop many people from entering all events. As soon as dates are confirmed we'll let you know.
