I have had quite a bit of interest lately from paddlers looking at buying my C4 14" Vortice XP Pro. Might be due to the possibility of a 14" Stock Class being included in Aust races in the near future.

I'm wanting to "spruce" her up a bit for a sale and am wondering if it's possible to remove the white "scuff" marks along the rails. There are also a few on the deck. As the paint work is blue you can see the marks. The paint has not been scratched off or damaged, they are just "scuffs".

It's purely for cosmetic reasons. These are not chips that you get on normal epoxy rails and there is no damage to the paint or layers...I just want her to look "Pretty" and as close as possible to her original state. She was only used for 3 months. Her ad and more pics are in the "For Sale" section of this site.

Looking forward to some suggestions. Here's some pics of her "scuffs"... The big white marks mainly on the top pic is just reflection from my garage roof. The "scuffs" are along the side caused by the paddle.

Toothpaste will take of little black marks on boards, it may not be enough to polish up what you have there alternatively a light automotive cutting compound.

If all else fails...try a light rub with 1200 grit wet & dry paper with water, then polish with any auto cut & polish.

The best way to prepare a board for sale is to take it to your local board maker or ding repairer and get them to touch up any paint chips and give it a polish.

I got my longboard done and it cost $50 and looked brand new at the end of it. That's way cheaper than trying to do it myself and the result was far superior. I had removed the wax but in trying to get it clean I was doing more damage than good.

try some Meguires Scratch-X. You can get it from super cheap.

A lot more mild that a cutting compound, but will remove light scratches and swirl marks from the clear coat on cars, so should work on this ok.

Thanks guy for all your answers and ideas. I'll try a few of them out today and post some "after" shots this arv. Much appreciated.

I did actually try Elmo's toothpaste idea last night as surprise, surprise I actually had this at home already. It did work really well. It has removed alot of the scuffs and has definately taken the white off them so they're hardly visible. But in certain lights and angles you can still see some marks. So I'll try the Scratch-X, Magic Eraser, Cut n Polish methods today.

Someone posted me a PM last night asking how she got so many "scuffs" with only 3 months use. I didn't actually give this answer but though later that you guys would appreciate...."most girls cop a canning in their first 3 months don't they?"

Heard a great little saying a few years ago-

Girls promise they won't change but always do,

Guys promise they will change but never do!

Have you ever noticed how a mans leg starts to shake when he says 'I DO'

You can just see the life drain away, they claim its nerves but those off us that know, its not nerves its the sound of the chain round ya balls. This is what makes the legs shake.

The only thing you can do is keep rubbing.. The marks on the board i mean
