Hi All

I am looking at putting a tail pad on my board; however, there is all ready a deck pad that comes close to the back of the board.

Is there a way to cut away a section to fit the tail pad, or remove the deck-pad altogether and start again?

Any tips would help, has anyone done this before?

Chainsaw may or may not be too drastic here......[}:)]

Lay the grip you are going to put on on top of the one that is on there already then trace around it, Get a sharp blade and cut it out be careful not to go through to the board.... Then just start at one side and slowly pull it up. Most grips will come up not to bad if you take your time. If its realy hard to get up you could soak the area with Wax and grease remover.

A Heat gun or Hair dryer works wonders to release the glue.

Just don't go delaming your board! Take it easy

Hey Monkey,

I found that a plastic broadknife works wonders. Just slip the edge of the broad knife under the grip and slice it back and forwards whilst using the hairdryer or heat gun on low as AA suggests once you work the edge up grab some broad nose plyers and get somemore leverage on it.

If you work away with patience it will happen, maybe not over night but it will happen.
