Hi all,

has anyone had any luck removing deckgrip from a starboard board with startouch deck?
And if so, how easy is it?

thanks,
Nick

I had mine start to flake off on an old drive of mine. I had a couple of people look at it and said just to sand it off and re clear the deck. But I just ended up waxing it up and it works fine.

I replaced I complete deckpad on my Deep minion using a method I found on here..soaking a towel in turps then wrapping in.plastic , leave for an hour then remove towel..deckpad will easily left off and residue and glue wipes ..peels off with ease..wouldn't believe it unless I had seen.it with my own eyes..works amazing well..quick wash and dry off ..and your all ready to put new pad on...sorry can't find link at present

I guess it was me: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/Removing-sup-deck-grip/

I agree it is quite unbeleivable...

(original topic in French: www.gong-galaxy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=46244 )

Be very careful to never use acetone with this method: people use acetone on SUPs with no visble damage because iot evaporates before being efficient and damaging the board. But any prolonged exposure to acetone will ruin a board by dissolving the additives in the resin and leaving micro-cracks. Plus acetone is extremely toxic, and penetrates the skin easily.
