Sambo,
Did you get out yesterday on the Jimmy 10'?
Would be keen to read your thoughts on it. It looked pretty sweet, nice outline, interesting rocker line.
Anyone else used the Jimmy SUP's? Please post your experiences.

Had a few goes on it over the last week. Each time I like it that little bit more.
Paddles a lot faster on to waves than you'd think making it easy to pick up even small waves. On the wave the acceleration and speed the board has let you carve smoothly even on tiny waves. Feels like it can also cut nice and tight when you get right up the back and dig it in.
So far so good. Can't wait to get out more on it as it's proving to be a more allround board than I thought. Jimmy Lewis deck pad is also much better than wax.

Had a good session on the Jimmy 10' on Monday.
Interesting board, paddled and rode a lot faster than I would have expected, I think this is largely due to the straighter rocker in the tail.
The waves were small, and fat, so not really the best for a small sup, especially not at my weight (95kgs), but I found it easy to kick turn, and catch waves, impressed with how well it carried the waves through the fatter inside section to link up with the shorebreak. The turn was very different to what I have been using, the boards seemed to want to slide or stall turn rather than carve from rail to rail, but once again, it was small surf, and this is a 10' board.
I really liked the deck pad, probably the best one I have used yet, great grip, and the raised deck around the standing area for paddling definately makes a difference. I would have to say that I am still a wax man though.
All up, a great board for lighter riders. probably suit easier condition for paddling out. I found my feet were under water most of the time. Nice finish, and good pressentation! Well worth a look at, or see if you can pry the demo off Sam @ Wind Surf'n'Snow.

Hey JB, Sam,
JL 10' works better as a true thruster. Heaps loose and the larger side fins give more balance. Board crabs a bit more when paddling but hey, its on the wave that matters. I have put in 6 inch centre and 5 1/4 sides. You should try it.

Thanks Scotty,
I know Sam has been trying many different fin set ups, I will see if he has tried this one yet. I have come to the conclusion that it is just too small for my weight in the waves that we ride, i can imagine it would be very nice on a good point break though! Thanks for your input.

Hey Scotty,
I'll give that a try. At the moment I upsized the orig side fins to 4.5" and thought went much better than the orig setup. Still using the original centre fin at the moment but that mainly because I've too lazy to take it out and try anything different for a while.
Might duck on down the road at lunch to find some bigger ones.
Let you know how I get one once these bloody Easterlies finish up over here.
Cheers,
Sam.
