Well lets just say that Rich Bartles stepped it up a notch today!

He is loving the DC to death and it shows.

A week ago he wouldnt even try to pull this type of sh1t off!

nice shots, the last ones a cracker by rich. surfed my new 88 friday morning, first wave just about barreled on a small one. took a sharp drop and the board just drilled it like it belonged there. hit the creek with dale this morning and gave him a go, didn,t think he was going to give it back. the best part is it catches waves with ease. it,s fast, carves on rail, slides are easy and i don't think i need a shortboard anymore
cheers

Man today Rich was just on fire!

Whe Lummers walked up the beach even he said Rich was crankin.

i might just add, the 8 10 and 8 8 are different boards, the 8 8 is not just a shorten 8 10.

Ok Lacey,

I'll bite, what are the differences between the 2 boards??

The 8'10 is a weapon for sure, I doubt 2 inches would make any difference!

ok, i know the boards pretty well, the 8 10 is more of a fish style type of board. the 8 8 has more rocker in the nose and a bit more bite in the rail. not sure about the tail, but could be a bit more too. casso had a hand in the 8 8 design. i haven't noticed any pushing off water and it catches wave easily, which can be a problem with more rocker. the 8 8 has a smoother feel, which would be normal between a fishy and normal shortboard shapes. to me the 8 8 has very little stall from rail to rail, which i think is a big thing on a performance sup, no other sup i have surfed does this. the standard 8 8 has a 8' tail which dale is going to go with for the board his is making for his trip. i went with the 6" tail like casso. it's easy to do with a template that is in the bay after the machining. i found the board a bit corky after my thinner 8 10's, but no worries. i weigh 77 kg, so someone lighter might like a bit thinner board, where someone else who is heavier should probably would keep the 8" tail, the beauty of customs. i would like to hear from rich about this, but i think the 8 10 could do with a little more nose rocker - just my thoughts . both are very good boards, but for me the 8 8 is a killer. phil we never bothered trying the 8 8, thinking the same as you, until that well known bloke came up for hols and we had a go- it blew us away

mate, it sure didn't look much, but the one thing about the place is, if there is waterwater, there will be some kind of rides happening. it,s a bit protected, but with the way the devils winds are cooking at the moment, go the early
cheers

Matty that gooy dismount more than likely save that other kid a trip to the hospital or worse, he was right in the middle lane of the freeway at the time.

Hi all ,

Thanks for the comments, Lummers ,Ross & Will and i had some unreal waves at Torquay point yesterday and fortunate enough to have Phill Page on the sand with his new monster XXL lens capturing it all.

Im not sure if it was the sugar hit of the jelly snakes i consumed B4 hitting the water or i finally worked out a fin combo on this board that works for me on the 8'10 DC but this board is just sick !!!
Im now running Sunny Garcia sides and a 6.5" future fin cutaway fwd of center in the box.

Casso's report on this board in Aust Stand Up Surfer magaize is spot on and for ANYONE looking to DEMO the 8'10 DALE CHAPMAN we have this board at STRAPPER SURF ready to go.....and we have a whole range of new demo boards also in store this season.....just ask !

Lummers on his 9'0 Naish Nalu is just shredding , tighter in the pocket with heaps of speed , one of our staff at Strapper said he pulled off a 1.5 foot air at Jan Juc not long ago.......Keep it real Lummers ya "GOOFBALL" !

Hey Mr Dogman,

I wont be surfing at Mambo i got told the other day at least another 6 weeks[}:)]. I will bring up the "Widow Maker" for the river but thats as close as I will get to a paddle.

Lens time is on the cards for sure, I am just not sure if people will tell the difference between you and Kristi as you both have Pink Helmets????

My hat comes off a lot. It is a bugger when you lose your favorite hat. I fall in heaps so I have an elastic hatsaver that loops around my neck.

All good action shots Phill, this one is a cracker, looks as if there was a lot of traffic which is probably a result of the above photo.

Hi DJ,

Naish used a couple of my images in the Lummers web release recently.

I have several others that are of equal or better quality.

Always happy to help.

Regards

Phill
