Impressive!!!

Are you moving much on that board? Seems like you are able to stay put most the time.

Yeah it's what makes the board so easy to DW on, you can really concentrate on paddling and when you get a big bump and you want to step back to surf you can !!
It may sound like i'm pimping the board here but it has to be one of the easiest and most fun boards to downwind on, and who says 12'6 are no fun to DW on!!!

Great Vid - any reason you took the 12'6 over a 14 footer?

Scott.

PS: Much better soundtrack this time!

Looks like a real blast... it's hard to tell from the video, but since you're paddling both left and right sides pretty consistently, are you in neutral stance most of the time? I only saw a couple of bits where it was obvious you were surfing? If so, it's impressive how that nose keeps out of the water.

Jacko paddles like the energizer bunny.. I'd love to see him on a 14'er and paddling less..

I'll be honast I like doing these runs on the 12'6, if I was on a 14 I would more than likely paddle just as much!! as thats how you have to do it if you want to push over bumps. It was only 20 knots so not super windy.
I could have easliy sat back and just surfed the bumps a bit more but then jake would have kicked my arse!!
maybe if I was on a unlimited board I would have gone faster but I had enough fun on the 12'6. Yes a 14 can be easier sometimes but if I had to pick one board my 12'6 would be it!!

I stand most of the time in a semi little surf stance, if you dont need to move then why would you as everytime you need to move you risk falling or losing your flow. Yes it does show how good these boards work in this kind of stuff, Im stoked everytime I down wind them!!

There you have it..

And re the 12'6'' preference .. That's ok if you're the size of a hobbit..
