Hi. I have been reading these forums for a little while but thought I'd sign up today to join in. Thank you to all of the tips and tricks I have already received from you all already!

I was just wondering if anyone has done some SUP in rivers - especially with rapids.

In just a normal flowing river I was wondering how tough people find it going upstream or whether you get picked up from a different point.

Also whether anyone had been white water SUPing. I have watched a few videos on youtube and thought I'd love to have a crack at it when my skills are A LOT better. Any stories to share or tips?

Newbie. My first experience was at Deception pass in Washington state. A mate who teaches there took me in and taught me. After years in the surf this was w whole new experience. Very exciting. I plan on running some courses, so stay in touch.

I read about someone having a go at the Sydney Olympics kayak place. That'd be brilliant too

It would need to be a pretty solid board to handle to rock impacts, inflatable would probably be the go ?
