Heading out to Oahu in July and looking at possibility of taking my treasured Starboard 9ft5” carbon board with me. Just wanted some collective opinions on the ultimate SUP Travel board bag that will ensure my board survives the journey, any thoughts ???????

Personally I would hire a board, plenty of options in Oahu

I came back with a board last year, it was dropped on the tail and cracked, easy fix, but unfortunate,

In saying that, we have travelled plenty of times with boards, get a bigger than normal board bag, make sure you have plenty of protection on the nose and tail, as well as plenty of rail protection,

Check out the Flying Objects bags. They do a 9'6 x 33 which fits the wide point perfectly and allows that little bit of extra for adding any neccesary padding.

I put a boardbag on it and wraped it in a 10mm insulation. Contact Dale Chapman, he might have some more in his factory
