I'll be in Byron Bay in two weeks time - does anyone know if you can hire boards there?

I'm sure you'll find somewhere Oliver.

Just go into a local surf shop and see if they have any demo SUP's..

Make sure you check out Wategos Beach while you're there... http://www.visitnsw.com/Wategos_Byron_Bay_P646.aspx

You could always take your Uli.

Oliver you might want to check out the industrial estate a little north ofr Byron - last I was in byron (many moons ago) it was a mini surf industry mecca with many well known brands there - mccoy, mctavish, parkes etc. You might be able to do a 2 week hire deal some how, rather than pay expensive hourly or day rates.

Have fun - should be a great place to paddle - esp. The Pass to Clarkes - a long ride if there's a wave there - you might even meet an inquisitive dolphin or 2.

Oliver,

There is a place that hires kayaks ,surfboards , mals and standup boards down the eastern end on the main street heading towards the lighthouse.

Not sure of the name but a quick drive through and you will find it quite easily.
I think they hire Southpoint SUP's from memory.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I'm only going to be there for a few days, staying close to Clarkes beach, I've got a bit of work to do but I'd like to get a couple of paddles while I'm there.
