SUP Central Paddle board club had their first club weekend away this weekend at Crowdy Head and it was a huge Sucess!! For a lucky few who were there from a late one on Friday arvo ( Ant, Peter S and Myself ) Got to surf the point at 2 to 4 foot with only 2 guys on short boards and us.
Saturday morning dawned with blue skies and sunshine and we had over 25 paddlers for our free surf and demo morning. Special Thanks To Adain from Naish who bought most of the Naish range up, Adam from the Paddle Shack who provided demos from McTavish, Coreban and C4 and Jimmy From ESS Boardstore who brought up the new OXBOW 9'4 (which saw Ant's riding go to a new level) Lugana bay and Jimmy Lewis Boards.
A lot of the crew took adavntage of this and tried out plenty of boards!!
Sat night saw everyone gather at the camp kitchen for a big BBQ, few cold beers and tall stories,then Darrell put up the video footage from the Sat arvo session out at the point up on the big screen which saw large cheers from all the crew with each wipeout!!!
We then did up the draw for the heats the next morning.
Sunday morning it was ON 5 heats for the boys and 1 heat for the girls super clean 2 to 3 foot lefts and rights on the beach break about 200 mtrs up the beach from the Surf Club.
After 2 action packed hours we had our winners with Michelle taking out the lady's and Mick D the mens.
Also Glen C for most radical turn/best wipeout, trying to push a 40+ year old body through a closeout reo that a 19 year old Kelly Slater would have been proud of.
Special thanks to Brad and Jade for providing the 4wd juding tent/hooter/beach access and all the judges and Scotty and Adam for score sheets, telling and a smooth run Comp.
