My wife and I are thinking of going over to Fiji in January. Any advice regarding where to go, should I take my 93 Naish- or hire. My wife doesn't surf, but I'm frothing, so a good compromise needs to be negotiated. Thanks heaps!

Definitely take it. Surfed Namouto Lefts last year and all I could think was "wish I brought the SUP"

Don't stay on the main island...its expensive to get to the surf and takes about 40 minutes in the boat. I didn't see any hire gear when I was there in July....my mate reckons plantation island is good. Unless you are staying on namotu or Tavaru your won't be able to suf there waves (Namotu left, cloud break and Restaurants)....you will be able to access Wilkes and Mini Cloudbreak and few others....you can surf cloudbreak on Saturdays as well....

Mt wife & I stayed at Matanivusi last year. It is on the Coral Coast about half way between Nadi & Suva.

They have sole access to 4 breaks out the front of the resort as well as Frigates which would be doable on a SUP when small. Frigates is about 40 mins away however that is in the 20ft Noosa Cat with twin 200s (not a longboat with a 40hp) & a top way to turn up to the break!!

Great resort run by an Aussie couple with only 12 guests at max. Take a short-board as well.
