Hi there

The gf and myself are thinking of heading off on a SUP holiday in Mar / April next year. Does anyone have any suggestions where a good spot to go would be. As we will not be taking our SUP's with us we will need to go somewhere where we can hire some for a few weeks at a reasonable price. We will be searching for some warm water with nice waves and prefer cheaper locations to expensive ones! Any help would be most apprecaited. I know that we could just stay here and roam the great east coast of NSW but we have done this many a time and would like to venture offshore.

Thanks.

Offshore? Not sure if you are meaning an inexpensive overseas location?.
OK...it is over the sea, but I reckon I have a great tip for you....
Ever been to North Stradbroke Island?
We have just hired some SUPs from Scott at Greenline www.greenlinepaddlesurf.com , so you could pick them up at the Gold Coast on the way through...drive to the ferry/barge point at Cleveland I think in Brisbane and within 2 hrs, you would be driving into the most drop dead gorgeous location that is PT LOOKOUT on Nth Stradbroke Is.
We stayed at Pandanus Lodge very high on the hill which is very comfy and cosy and not the type of joint that is super trendy and expensive.
Down the hill is Cylinder Beach which is a nice longboard wave most days.
Because you are disconnected from the mainland, it FEELS like you are somewhere far far away and it is way easier to relax because of that aspect.
Hope you end up having a great holiday wherever you go.

Thanks for your thoughts - much apprecaited. Bali sure does sound like a reasonable solution but I have been there many times already on surf trips and was hoping to explore somewhere new. But its definitely on the list now. I will be in touch SUPBALI if we decide on that as our destination. I love the idea of Straddie though and it aways makes for a fun roadtrip if we were to drive up and take our boards.
