I had 10 days in Ireland before kids, and put on a kg a day, courtesy of pub lunches, pub dinners & guinness.
70kg to 80kg in 10 days - disgusting!
Best you allocate 2 hours a day for some serious paddling...

Yep portrush is the go. There are plenty of different breaks up there, Portrush west strand is probably best for sup. There are plenty of breaks on the north west coast too - Bundorean/ Rossknowlagh area. If Mullagh is firing its worth a look!

Don't forget Bushmills whiskey, the oldest distillery in the world is 10 mins from portrush and you'd be a fool not to get a Black Bush up there

Nowhere really hires advanced sup gear on the north coast but www.surfsupni.com/home.html - will hire you a soft board and paddle and also www.troggs.com who have a big surf hire operation - both might put you in touch with a local who might hire an advanced board - great beaches up there
