I am coming up to Broadbeach friday for the weekend with the family and in-laws. Was wondering if there is a SUP rental place close by there, am staying at a place called Beachhaven, which looks to be close the the centre of action. I could bring the ISUP but keen to hire a hard board and try my luck in the surf (hints on where to head?). thanks.

Got onto Scott who hooked me up with a Laguna Bay 10'2"x4.5"x29.5" Surftech swallowtail, which was similar enough to my Icon that I could balance and paddle it! Ran a Jerry Lopez Thurster setup which I was impressed with. Nice board.

He met me at Currumbin saturday and I had a nice sesison there. Pretty busy but I was also suprised at how many waves were let through the lineup.

Sunday I went out the front of the hotel at Broadbeach, just north of the surfclub on high tide, for some sucky breaks but still fun. Only a couple of shortboarers within vision distance. Monday I was heading back to Currumbin when I noticed a few SUPs at Burleigh so stopped there and had a great session off the point. CG is spoilt for choice.

Greenline is a great shop and Scott also set me up with a set of Lopez fins which I'll be keen to get on the Icon this weekend. Highly recommend a stop into Greenline if your on the GC.
