Hi, Just wondering if there is a SUP group that goes out near Yeppoon? I'm trying to get my little sisters (14 and 16) involved in outdoor sports and away from the computer and I think that SUP would be great as its relaxing and they can just go at their own pace.

There isn't anything formal as far as I am aware, but there is a FB site "4703 Stand Up Paddle Boarders" which a few of the guys are on, and chat about where they are heading etc.
Pat at Cap Coast Learn to Surf would be worth talking to, he is at Yeppoon and does SUP lessons / hire / sales etc.

i cant believe some of the outrigger crew from the cap coast haven't got into down winding, its the perfect spot with its trade winds.
i was having a chat with the guys that run the paddle shop at Warana and they were saying the same thing.
but i have noticed a lot more SUP boards around.
