Hi I am newish to SUPing just 3 months but many years in other water fun eg last 10 yrs kite surfing.

I now have a 9' 4" Oxbow (almost was to be a 9' 5" Naish Manner but went for the Oxbow) for surf and a 12' 6" Fanatic Race (to build fitness) enjoying both but do not know any different.

I am familiar with Kitesurfing forums and have been following SUP Forums since my interst in SUPs and found reviews and comments very helpful.

As new SUP forum reader it would help me if as in the kiter surfing forum some form of declaration by posters in reviews eg team rider, sponsored, any form of link to a brand or sales outlet, experience etc.

Let me know what the go is on this please so I can adjust and get more out of what is already an excellent forum

apart from the site sponsers avatars, and some people who state their alliances,if you keep following the forum it becomes obvious pretty quickly if that helps

cheers

At the end of the day it's you, the prospective customer who makes the decision on what board you buy and from whom you buy it. If you are smart you will read posts and reviews and then go and try boards for yourself before handing over your $. Whether someone is a wholesaler/retailer/team rider/or aligned to a brand by way of business or friendship or whatever - really means nothing because it is all personal opinion anyway. There arent too many on this forum that dont have some form of allegiance to a shaper/retailer or brand but thats not such a bad thing because a lot of those allegiances came about by way of good product and good service and that in turn led to good friendships. I dont reckon its any different to having a fave footy team and proudly showing your colours - and I'm a collingwood supporter which I guess was kinda obvious.

What about showing your colours on your SUP gear?

Nice paddle Paul.. Looks like North Melbourne had a win on the w/e.. .. So did the Tigers..

I've heard the new 2012 Naish boards will be more yellow and black..

Thank you for your replies.

I understand where you are all coming from.

The SUP forum is a very different forum to the kite surfing forum.

Hoytz I will send you my phone number re the Oxbow.
