Hi I am looking at getting into SUPing and am looking at a NSP 11'6" board
I am 6 foot tall and about 110kg

I also looked at the Naish 10' Mana but found it alot less unstable as the NSP

what other board / sizes would people recomend ?

Cheers

Mate the nsp 11.6 is a great board and a you will be very happy with it. When you are just starting out you need a stable board that paddles well, is easy to handle in open water and catches small waves easily and will stand up to a bit of punishment and is affordable - the nsp ticks all those boxes.

Have a look at psh range they seem to be designed for the bigger guys , you can pic up the old southpoint kalama 11'6 real cheap , that board surfed prettty good for its size plus you could take your barbie out on it , and a few friends too , throw in the dog aswell.Very versatile board.

Have a look at the Walden 10'10. super stable and heaps of volume. Also surfs pretty well and paddles nicely on flat water.

Are you going to be flat water paddling or mostly surfing?

I have the NSP 11' and its very similar. Pretty much everything billboard says about it.

It was my first board and I have long since moved on to more high performance models but I still hold on to my NSP despite having received several offers for it.

95 kg here

buy both if you can get hold of them, boards are pretty hard to get your hands on in Tassie, you can always say one is for the wife or kids, the NSP sounds like a good size for you to learn on and then after few months you will be looking at somthing like the Mana to move onto as your skills improve.

Many thanks everyone for you helpful advice

Just picked up a second hand 11'6" NSP locally - Will be a great board for getting into the sport and will purchase a new shorter board later down the track.

Cheers
