Does anyone know of any SUP hire available on a beach in Perth. Going to be in Perth late this week and not going to be able to take my SUP gear. I found lots of river hire on the internet but looking to SUP where there is some surf. Would be willing to do it as part of a lesson if there isn't a hire option.

I believe doggie hires them, you can find him in the shortboard forum and others

Try giving Darren (scarbsup) a shout at stand up paddle Perth, they are only a couple hundred metres back from Scarborough, I'm sure they will have something that will tick all your boxes.

Are any of these places on or walkable to the beach?

Just asking as I won't have access to a car with roof racks.

Longboards Scarborough are not far from the sand and generally have a couple to hire at world's best prices. Got a new 10'2" NSP in at the moment. Change and add to the hire boards frequently.

Good luck on finding a wave srosurf report for today and they are optimistic:

WIND: Moderate to fresh E.
WAVES: Up to knee high on the beach breaks.
COMMENTS: You are going to have to wait for the bigger ones along the beach breaks, which are only pushing knee high and to add to your pain, not a lot of them with not a lot of shape, not a lot of push and not a lot of them. Not a lot of options as there is not a lot of waves.
Rating: 1 out of 10.
Support your local shaper, support your local surf shop.

Sums up Perth really

Hi Hilly,

I'll be looking to SUP on Friday.

Bad waves on Perth beaches are still better than 'good waves' on Port Phillip Bay :-)

With the easterlies blowing at the moment you could spit on the beach from both Scarborough Longboards and Stand Up Paddle Perth.

I aggree with Hilly, finding a board wont be a problem its the wave to use it on tha will be the problem. I'm hoping my new 12'6 will be in on Friday so will be around the area trying to sniff out a little wave.

Oh well Hilly,

At least "Lake Indian" isn't polluted like Port Phillip Bay.

Surf4fun, I hope to see you out there!

Could you get out through the shore break?

Negligible waves but the nicest spot to be.
