Hi guys, Just a heads up that we've been receiving emails from an individual from Central Africa wanting to buy significant amounts of SUP gear.
It is a big scam similar to the Nigerian letter scams that have been popular over the last decade - proceed at your own peril and don't believe the riches they promise you!
This is not uncommon if your business has internet sales. I own a Marquee and Camping business (QMAT) and would receive atleast one email a month that is a scammer. Some sound authentic. Google search the "Seventh Day Adventice Orphanage Scam" (nothing to do with that religious group). They offered to buy the gear via Visa card and include the shipping cost with the card payment. Tey insist that you use a certain freight company. They ask that you email this company and get a quote and then let them know and they will pay the full amount by Visa. The catch is that the freight company only accept payment by Western Union (big red flag). Once you pay by western union the Visa payment is cancelled and the money you have paid for freight is GOOOONE. Normally a couple of $K. You don't loose product just cash. We were lucky to avoid this but it nearly went through the system.
Normally if it sounds too good it is. Google search anything like it you get and you will normally find out if is SUS.
