Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that you can hire or rent a SUP for a couple of hours in Melbourne?

Went for a SUP on a friends board last weekend and really keen to give it another shot. I had a look at the RPS website and they mentioned lessons but I'd rather just head out own my own.

Is there such a service being offered by anyone? Thinking kinda of like a snowboard hire where you rent the gear and return it later.

TIA.

Hi TobiTobi
Pretty sure that you can hire SUPS from SHQ in Sandringham. They have a kiosk/cafe at the end of jetty road as well as the shop on Beach Road. Not sure of the exact arrangements/hours of operation though so give them a call first.
Keep an eye out for demonstration days etc here on the breeze, often put on by the various board manufacturers so that way you can try paddling a variety of boards. If you are interested in buying your own board then most of the retailers have demo boards you can take for a short paddle, bit like test driving a car. Be warned though that this is a very addictive activity

Yeah SHQ or the Sandy Beach HQ Cafe as Kaihoe mentioned in Sandringham. You can also ring RPS and I think you may be able to arrange a board pick up at their Elwood shop or they also have a stash of boards at Half Moon Bay. Then there's SUP HQ at the StKilda Seabaths and The ZU just a little further north on the beach at West StKilda.

Went down to Sandy Beach HQ this morning and rented a SUP from Mike/Mick (can't remember) and had a bit of a paddle.

Was harder work this time than last weekend due to a bit of a headwind but still fun.
