I thought the crew online you'd love to hear about my maiden voyage.
had a sweet grey monday morning at the point all to myself, mod sideoff shore wind and 2-3ft.
first time i had the Naish 9"3 Hokua out in decent waves and was frothing on the performance and fun i was having.
i decided to push it a bit and tried a floater on a closeout and nosedived the drop. with a brisk tug and then nothing i new the board was free.
i surfaced to see my baby swimming free towards the rocks. i think my brain hit a short circuit but i made the right decision. (leave the paddle and do a trevor hendy for the board) i manged to touch it before she was free again and then gone.
I made it to the rocks climbed up and found the board in better condition then i thought it would be.
only damage was 3 dings on the rails, some cat scratches on the bottom and a smashed in center fin (old windsurf one anyway) so i decided to venture back out surf style and look for my paddle.
On a grey now onshore frontal white out the odds of finding a carbon black paddle are less then 99.9% but hey there it was holding its hand out waiting for me.
so after an arvo in the ding shop and still with a paddle in hand im ready for tomorrow.
Not nice...did same with my SB Hero except it didn't make it to the rocks. Turned out that maybe the cord on legrope pin was maybe more of a label attachment
LOL So many times i've used that label attachment as a makeshift leggy rope Still goin' strong! Good to hear your boards ok I did the same a Moffats reef once... Board was fine!
