I was in Panama fishing in 2009 in the tributaries of the Panama canal and watched 2 guys in a canoe get out and sit on the canal bank. 15 mins later they were chased up the bank and into thier canoe by a sizable caiman.
You would want to make sure you know whats in the water around you!
