It's good to see that Tom Carroll finds SUP physically demanding. I had my first session in the surf on Saturday followed by a cruisy distance paddle on Sunday. Today I feel like a truck ran over me.

It's not from being worked by waves. More from loads and loads of furious paddling trying (and often succeeding) in catching lots of small to piddling waves.

Spewing i missed that, but that would be Damon Eastough, this guy rips on a normal surfboard. He surfs northpoint as big as it can hold better than anyone, he also broke his femur a few years ago pulling into the womb at Ellensbrook on his back hand, a gnarly enough wave as it is without the 1.5 k walk out of there in mega soft sand, taj burrow and a couple of boogers carried him out on his surfboard. This same wave broke one of my best mates femur (ding) also while pulling in on his backhand, the scary thing is both of them got hit square across the thigh by the lip, they didnt hit the reef as everyone would think, it was purely the power of the wave
