Now this should make the cover shot of the next Australian Paddle Surfer Magazine!!!
Next Sunday SUPSA will run it's first champions day, note the plural "champions", it's for a reason. When starting out (again) back in March of this year, we wanted to make the days as family friendly as possible and over the year we have seen that happen with Mums, Dads, Kids and even Grandparents coming along and enjoying good times and having a fantastic day. So everyone who has come along and participated in having fun throughout the year, your a champion!! So it was obvious that our second last event for the year should be a day for all the champions.
Below are the three races we are running, one course for the serious racers, a course for the paddlers looking for a seriously fun time and also a race for teh biggest champion, the kids that have got out there and tried something new and in the process have got hooked on SUP.
The Serious Racers will have a Mens and Womens class, as will the Serious Fun Racers. The kids will go in two age groups, up to 12 years of age (boys and girls go as one) and then 12 years of age and over (boys and girls go together).
SUPSA is donating a trophy for the winner of each race (kids included) and the prize pool starting to come together as well with the following already on board;
- Flametree Park Hair Design
- Von Piros Productions
- Greenline Stand Up Paddle Surf
- Zurich Insurance Australia
- Queensland Fire Service (We have two copies of the Fire Calender for 2010 personally signed by Mr August.... stoked!!!)

The prize pool will no doubt fill up over the next few days so watch this space but in the meantime anyone wanting to donate please feel free to contact me here or on [email protected]

Serious Racers Race

Serious Fun Racers Race

One for the Kids

Now the important stuff, the when and where,

When: Sunday 1st November 2009

Where: Palm Beach Parklands

Time: 8.00 am everyone needs to be there so you can nominate for the event of choice. Please note that in fairness to everyone, for adults you can only enter one event, either the SUPSA Serious Racers or SUPSA Serious Fun Race.

As usual SUPSA provide the Sausage Sizzle and there will be Drinks on sale (gold coin donation)

Cheers

Chris

Oi ... if you like to bring a BBQ that can cook a sausage under 2 hours that would be great but then again I think that there are some that have got quite sentimental about the SUPSA bbq, only bbq in the world that requires a whole slab to get through 20 sausages .....

wouldn't be the first bbq to promote alcoholism!!! will throw mine in the ute just in case there is a crowd and cooked snags are scarce.

Guys and Gals, am absolutely blown away with the support that SUPSA has recieved over the past year and now I am just totally gob smacked.
Mark Waldeck (alias Lacey) has just offered up his Starboard 7"2 as a prize for this Sunday to the best overall performer in the kid's divisions.

That's right, one little nipper will leave Palm Beach Parklands on Sunday the proud owner of a new (used) 7'2 Starboard Stand Up Paddle board.

Mark, thanks for that buddy, absolutely fantastic!!!!

Hi All,

Sorry I won't be able to make this one as I am only arriving back from China Monday morning.

SUPSA has really appreciated all of your support this year. We will be having our end of year meeting next month as well as the AGM. Chris and I are extremely busy at work and we could really appreciate some assistance on the committee next year.

Please don't be afraid to put your hands up as we really want SUPSA to keep on going from strength to strength next season.

Take care
Mike

Bugger Bugger Bugger!!!!!

CAN EVERYONE NOTE THAT WE WILL POSTPONE TODAY'S EVENT DUE TO THE WEATHER. THE SHOWERS LOOK LIKE SETTING THEMSELVES UP TO COME IN WAVES FOR THE DAY. IT'S NOT FAIR TO THE FAMILIES AND KIDS TO RUN THIS IN WET AND CLOUDY WEATHER, AND IT'S NOT FAIR ON THE SPONSOR'S TO RUN ON A DAY THAT WILL SEE THEM GET ANYTHING LESS THAN MAXIMUM EXPOSURE. I WILL GO DOWN TO PALM BEACH PARKLANDS AND HANG AROUND TO LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT SHOW UP BUT IF YOU CAN ALL SPREAD THE WORD IT WILL BE APPRECIATED.

THANKS CHRIS
