The first Club Comp has been set down to run on Sunday 21st March 2010. Actual location for the comp will be advised in the days leading up to the day as it is mobile event to take advantage of the best conditions. Current members will be notified via mobile text message and Seabreeze posting. Also information on the first Club Championship Round and all other SUPSA info will be on the soon to be up and running website. (www.supsa.org) Stay tuned!

******It is realised that this does conflict with finals day at the Noosa Festival of Surfing*******

Categories will be;

(1) Boards measuring 9'8 and above
(2) Boards measuring less than 9'8
(3) Male and Female

We will be using a points system that will ensure a level playing field for everyone so don't be put off if your a new comer to the sport. We would like to see everyone there.

To compete in the comp however, you have to be a fully paid up member for the the 2010 season. For a Renewal / Application form and Club information, please email [email protected]. We also have added the bank account details so you can bank directly into the club account. You can pay on the day if you like, but before we can let you compete we need to see the completed form and the colour of your money.

Any questions, and for information email [email protected]

Is this the direction the sport is heading?
Will there be categories for different length boards?

Hey Dave,
I can see where you're coming from with the question on "is this where the sport is heading". The reason we have settled on the board length rule is that all of our current SUPSA members are riding boards of vast lengths. From mid 8 footers to 11 footers. What we are trying to do is establish fair competition in the way of judging for everyone who competes. As we are not surfing for "Sheep Stations", its not hard to work out that the guys riding the smaller high performance boards will victor over the guys riding bigger boards and the less confident surfers. Now this rule is only within our club to maintain a fair outcome for everyone, as the club is based around having fun.
We also have 3 categories within our board length restriction which are A, B and C grades, that will class each competitor pending their calculated averaged point score after the 3 rounds of Club Championships. Lastly, we do accommodate both men and women categories and not combine them. Its not because most of the girls surf better than us guys, but we have similar numbers of both.
For SUPSA club membership info, please email [email protected]
