Another great SUPSA day , beautiful weather and with a good turn out .The crew put on a great barbie with lots of demo boards and lolly pops for the kids. My family had a great time trying all the different boards.I also brought down my new DC 9-2.
The board goes great Dale really has found the right formula for these small boards, it's super stable with excellent glide even the newbies could paddle it no worries.
No surf for me today but we have had great waves at Burleigh the last few days and the board ripped through the fast little sections ...I'm so stoked this board is a keeper.
Yes !!! what a great day we had, great shot of me and James sit in the chair on the board. The shot of me on the red 9'6' Looks like I,m trying to sink it. All your photo look great are you going to post then at WWW.vonpiros.com ?
Looks like a great day piros with the family - The boards obviously were a big hit. I really like that dc9 of yours and the deckpad art is great - you have a real knack for it. If I ever part with my Stonker, I think that dc9'2" has what I'm looking for in a board - apart from the 2 leach plugs in the deck, to carry the bugger.
i was looking out and watching all the kids paddling around and thinking how good are they going to be- the first new generation of supers ps the girls blow the boys away in natural ability
Oliver Dales puts handels in his boards now , I'm just so used to not having them I don't get them put in , and on the smaller boards you do stand on them alot when you surf.
Lacey the kids love it , I just can't wait untill we can paddle out in the surf together.
Hey Piros, looks like a great day was had by all.Winter in QLD! oh yeah, cold as mother in-laws smile Vicco, great to see all the family out having funYour new shooter looks great.
Thanks for putting the pics up Rob. Was another fantastic day although numbers may have been effected by the fact that Flu seems to sweeping the GC at the moment. That, and the Outriggers were also racing up at Hamilton Island. Am sure the freezing weather has an effect as well, I mean not pleasant beach weather when you only get 22 degrees at lunchtime. Overall we had 28 Men Women and Children running around on SUP's, sucking on Lollipops, drinking soft drink and chowing down on the Sausage Sizzle. Big thanks to all that helped on the day, too many to mention. Serious thanks has to go to Marty though, 3 and half weeks after a double hip replacement and there he was, manning the BBQ cooking for everyone whilst on crutches. As for the comp ...... ummmmm well .... it was a sunny day!!!! Sunday morning and Huey had deserted us altogether, there was absolutely nothing to ride. On the comp side we might have to consider running it seperate to the Fun Day so we can make it a mobile event to take advantage of some better surf conditions. Will let ya know about this. Hope everyone enjoyed a great day in the sun. Chris
