Me too, but the rudder broke on my 17 on the weekend so it looks like i'm going to have to paddle my 12'6 instead.

Cool how do I go about joining?

Do you hold events all over Australia or just QLD?

Here is the latest prediction for the conditions on Sunday:

It looks like the wind will be fairly light with small swell. This might be a good opportunity for less experienced paddlers to have a go at this event. If this is you then please let the SUPSA organisers (Just Wrong, Secret Agent, Lacey) know so that they can try and accomodate you.

Hello all,

Just advising all members/competitors thinking of paddling in this Sundays SUPSA Distance Race from Snapper Rocks to Winders Park, that legropes will be compulsory for all participants.

We will have some Club Officials on craft as water safety but would rather all particpants to be attached to their boards by some means!

Now this race is Round 1 of SUPSA's Distance dicipline and although there will be some serious racers, it is billed as a fun event. The conditions are favourable to everyone as small swell and light SSE winds are forecast. So we encourage anyone wanting to try this distance of 10kms (Snapper to Currumbin) or 5kms (Tugun to Currumbin) come along and have some fun.

Cheers

As part of the SUPSA Ocean Distance race this Sunday we will have a beginners section. If the conditions are good it might turn into a downwinder. A few of us will be available to assist you, if you are interested. Please let either Lacey, Secret Agent, JustWrong or me know beforehand so that we can cater for you.

If there are any interested people then we will leave as a group (8.30am) before the main racing group leaves Snapper at 9am.

You must have a legrope. We will have safety gear with us in the group. This is for SUPSA members only (Insurance) - you can join on the day, if necessary.

Hey Guy's,

I have a trailer that can carry at least 6 sup boards, i know it will carry a 12'6 possibly some 14 footers might fit as well, and plenty of paddle and gear space, if you want me to bring it along?

we aren't sure on numbers yet, but if you can bring it up without to much trouble, that would be very good of you. i'm pretty sure we can put it to use
thanks

Minkee ... Maybe .....

Also anyone that has waterproof cameras or Go Pro's .... please bring them along and take as much footage as you can. We are looking to expand the website so any pics or video of tomorrow would be great. If you would like to send us pics of previous SUPSA events that would be cool as well

Thank heaps

The beginners paddle will also meet at 8am at Winders Park, Currumbin.

There are a few people interested in this so it should be a great way to get started. Although we will not be "racing" our times will be locked into the main event so that it will count for your overall points.

We will have good safety gear with us so you will be fine so long as you stay with the group.

Sunday morning dawned with clear skies, no wind and HOT. We had a group of 30 paddlers gather at Currumbin where the finer details of who was paddling the 5 klm and who was paddling the 10klm were sorted and then off Tugun / Snapper.
We didn't have to much wind assistance for the entire duration, perhaps the pod of dolphins that circled all the paddlers at the start of the 10klm were trying to tell us something, something like ... "Do you guys and girls know how HOT it is"?
I was stoked to see so many people with huge smiles on their dials when we all got back, especialy the ones that had never been out past the break before in their lives. Peasey will no doubt have the detail of placings etc up shortly and there was heaps of cameras out and about as well so should have some pics up soon too. Thanks to all helpers.

Cheers
