Big thank you to the goldy supsa crew for putting on a great day today. It was the first supsa day I have been involved with and I really enjoyed the day and met some very nice and supassionate people. Only downside was that I got to find out just how paddle unfit I am Looking forward to next month.

the range of downwind boards on display was fantastic. so many ideas brewing for a exciting future and to hook up with heaps of enthusiasts was a highlight of the day for me. best boards for me(apart from mine) was the secret agent 12'6 and the lahui kai 14'. also have a new found respect for the naish 14'- a very clever design for open ocean d/w's
cheers

Well done to the people that put their hands up to stand on the SUPSA committee for 2010. We ended up with a full house which was an excellent result. A special thanks to Chris "Just Wrong" McCall for standing again as Secretary - great effort, mate!

Troy Pease (Peasey) is the new President, which should help out the fireman calendar sales. Check out "Mr August" for a buffed up Peasey (I am sure there will be more to follow on this topic).

Let's all support this new committee as it takes us into 2010 and beyond...

Thanks heaps to Chris and everyone involved in making it an unreal day. And thanks also to all the participating suppliers who provided the opportunity to demo so many outstanding weapons. A great vibe and some very special equipment on show.

I liked that Lahui Kai 14' as well. So stable and fast feeling, just gliding through the water. Was great to get a chance to paddle so many boards, great to be able to look at them first, paddle them and actually put together in your mind why one felt like this and the other felt like that. In flat water anyway.

Thanks to the boys for making it happen.

Think I have re-hydrated enough after Sunday too let ya all know how it went down.
Was HUGE!!! and I don't mean Santa's pants either.
We had about 40 odd boards on the beach, downwinders, flat water, surf, production, custom ... you name it, it was there. We even had Paddle Fitness Instructors ... so needed to catch up with them!!
We had races, Brooke Pender dug her Kia Kaha paddle in hard and dominated the under 12's race from Bonnie Pirie and Cy Chapman, over 12 was won by Tanika Chapman after Piros got in the way of his own daughter Zoe, well that's Zoe's story and she is sticking to it. Veerle Suijl just edged out Leanne Pender in a very close finish in the Womens Race with Caela Hanson coming in third. The Mens Fun Race was decided under controversial circumstances and again involved Piros. Piros was first across the line but was relegated to 2nd after it was discovered that a 14ft board was used in a max 12'6 race, so final placings were Steve (so hungover) Richo, Piros and Mike Manning. The Serious Race was delayed whilst I paddled a huge marker complete with flag, lead filled PVC pipe, Float, Rope and Anchor out through the Alley and into 25 knot Nor Easter. Got it out there and in place but thankfully no body saw how I secured it so it didn't get washed away, just starting to walk straight now, phew!! Travis Grant blitzed the field with Brett Williams second and Mike Manning coming in third. Alison Fullgar took out the Womens Serious prize.
Santa made a brief visit and threw lollies at everyone .... why do kids always want to always pull Santa's beard???
Thanks to all that participated and all the guys and gals that assisted by demo'ing, Richo for manning the BBQ, Jacko for lending us the marker buoys and our unofficial official photographer Pieter Ploy for taking shots. Speaking of which, as soon as I get some from Pieter will post them.

Cheers

Yes it was a great day my whole family had a ball....I honestly thought I was only on a 12-6 all those Naish's look alike .

I would really like to thank Mark (Lacey) for his very generous donation of the 7-2 to the kids raffle , great effort mate thats really "Sharing The Stoke".

I got to try out the 12-6 , 14 & 17 in the DC , Naish & Lahui Kai plus the secret agent 12-6 , 10 excellent race boards. DJ probably would have hyper ventilated just looking at the boards. I think we will see a big growth in the 14 foot catergory.

Thanks to Chris and the crew for a great day ad it was a great way to top off the year. Hail Peasy as the new President.

Piros

A very enjoyable day had by all. Unlike the ocean side of the Alley, PB Parklands was perfect. Perfect weather, perfect company and cold beer. Did I mention cold Beer? Was great to see a whole lot of new faces in the mix of the old. Thanks to Chris aka surfing Santa, for putting on a fantastic final day. Not only informing members with the latest SUPSA news throughout the year, but organising all the prizes and events on the day. Thanks mate. Thanks to Mikeman for his support and sticking it out to the end! A big thanks to Mark "Lacey" Waldeck of an incredible donation of a 7'2" Starboard. My grommy still can't wipe the smile of his face.....nor can I for that matter! Cheers mate. To everyone else invloved on the day and throughout the year well done and thankyou and looking forward to a massive 2010.
Cheers

So, Secret Agent, are you going to post the Mr August pic in the fireman calendar or do you want to risk me putting it up (after some photoshop enhancements)?

Well done, Peasey, for putting your hand up to take us through 2010. Can you let us all know who the new committee members are?
