Well according to the Bureau, Coastalwatch, the Breeze Graphs and Windguru, we should be in for ok weather and winds on Sunday ..... so come on, get out in the sun and get warm by going for a paddle!!!!

Don't forget the times for Sunday;

Those doing the paddle from Snapper to Currumbin meet at Palm Beach Parklands (that's the park where the old Palm Beach Currumbin Bowls Club was, where the last event was, the park on the left going south on the Gold Coast Highway just before the big bridge over the Currumbin Creek) AT 6.30AM.
On the subject of the paddle back, we are stoked to have got so many emails asking about it and saying that people are coming. I think there may be about 20 plus people participating so should be a good sight. Anyone still sitting on the fence about going or not, rest assured nobody will be left behind and nobody will be left paddling on their own.

FUN DAY starts at 9.00am same place as above.

Also don't forget that we have the $50 Myer Gift Voucher up for grabs for the ladies in the "Dash for Cash" (donated by SUPSA) and a Paddle Lesson from ROAR INDUSTRIES (girl winner) and GREENLINE PADDLESURF (boy winner) for the kids. Both these events will flatwater paddles so everyone can join in. Chupa Chups have been purchased as well!!!!!

Whilst your there on Sunday, make sure that you get in front of one of the committee members and voice your thoughts on getting some club rounds up and running, when they should be run and so on. We want your input cause this is YOUR CLUB, not the committee's club.

Yer I recognise that photo. I took it in January at the Makaha Big Wave SUP Competition. It's Ikiaka Kalama heading out for the final. He got the mask in Mexico apparently...

P.S. Hey Just Wrong...are out of towners allowed to come along on Sunday ? Thinking of making the trip down or is it just for GC SUPSA Crew ??

Hey Sue, Absolutely no dramas what so ever, more the merrier!!!!! Only qualification we would put on it though is that the Dash for Cash and Kids Race are only open to paid up SUPSA members but other than that, yeah come on down. Even shout ya a snag ... if Danny is coming as well let me know ok, will get buy another 1/2 kilo of snags!!!!

Looks like a good day coming up

Looking at these masked men reminds me of good old Cult man i heard he's making a come back and is now training on a SUP, heard he might now be called Roar man. All i know is he does look good in tights.

Looks like an absolute corker Ang!!!
Strangely enough, I was thinking of Cult Man the other night ..... wondered if he could morph into a blackwetsuit, lime green speedos over the top, yellow cape .... (club colours) he could be SUPSA MAN!!

That's for your reply Chris and no worries about your rules...by the time you read this the day would be over unless you've got your lap top on the beach. So you'll notice we didn't come. Danny has a big outrigger session this morning and being the coach he had to be there. So you may have to freeze that 1/2 kilo for next time !! Unless Dogman shows up !!

Hey Sue ... no worries, all 60 snags got eaten no dramas, only one's that missed out was the various dogs that were lined up beside the bbq waiting for the leftovers, but there was none.
So here's the highlights; Day started off with a real light sw wind, so about 15 or so of us set off from Snapper to Currumbin. One idiot wasn't paying attention and missed everyone start off cause he was too busy catching a wave that popped up out of nowhere .... but hey guys what can I say, it was just begging to be ridden!! Couple of dolphins, couple of schools of mackerel, you know the usual. Wind was SW but got alot more West in it as we got to Bilinga, and it picked up as well which made things a bit harder .. was a good hitout for the Honolua. Big thanks to DALE CHAPMAN of CHAPMAN SURFBOARDS giving up the chance to paddle and instead ran his jet ski as the safety guy ...
We ran the Dash for Cash and Angie won from Allison in 0.5 seconds, seriously that is how close it was, Angie's foot hit sand first and the $50 Gift Voucher was hers!!!!
In third cam Jenny which was a huge effort given she hadn't been on a 12ft board before. Thanks to all the other women that paddled as well, it was quite historic that the first race that SUPSA ran was a race for the Ladies!!
The Kids Race was epic with Tanika coming in first, Darcy in second and Brooke in third. Strange but all first three place all taken out by little ladies!!! Thanks to ROAR INDUSTRIES and GREENLINE STANDUP PADDLE SURF for donating their time in giving the kids a free paddle lesson.
Finished the day just kickin back and having FUN.
Finally big thanks to Steveo for not wearing the Gimp but handling the BBQ fantastically well, your a legend buddy.

Hi all,

Thank you to supsa for the great fun day. GOD my right shoulder is sore today! I think it could have something to do with only 10 strokes on my right side the whole downwinder, feel like i need to paddle for another hour using my left side only LOL.

Great thanks to Dale for using his jetski, i know Evon was very thankful.

As for the Boys following myself and Alison, Yeh what did happen to you all LOL .

Well done to all that gave the downwinder a go! and thanks to all for the day.

Was more about the being on the water DJ ...... we made sure of that. Who would care about where you came when there was 40 Chupa Chups and a cold soft drink drink on offer when you get back to the beach.
