On Christmas day 2007 my dad had a go on my Naish 11'6".

Two days after Christmas he bought his own board and was into it big time.

Two months later he was diagnosed with a really bad type of brain tumour and it finally cut him down last Saturday.

Bloody hell he loved the SUP...

What a good man he must have been-taking on new interests late in life-you're lucky to have shared those experiences with your dad-I've been surfing over 35 years-never had my dad near waves-he's scared of the ocean.....

Sorry to hear your sad news Ice E but how fantastic that you could share something you were both passionate about.

My Dad had bowel cancer, had the op and thought he had beaten it then found out he had liver secondaries just before we had a skiing weekend booked - he loved skiing and this was probably going to be his last opportunity so up we went. Wouldn't you know it, poor bugger broke his leg! But I bet even if he'd had a crystal ball he still would have gone up to get that last days skiing.

Hope I can keep that sort of enthusiasm and interest in new things going right to the end.

Ice,

Guys like your Dad are 1 in a million, the days you shared on the water I am sure filled his heart and mind with so much pleasure.

Celebrate the fact that he lived his life with so much joy and that he cared enough to invest the most valuable resource anyone has (time) with you!!! How great is that.

Best wishes

Phill Kim Kristi Nesha and Niki

Ice...guys like your Dad are an inspiration. I only hope I can keep trying new things as I get older. I feel for your loss but you have to know how lucky you are to have had him as your Dad.
