Hi guys. Might be in Canberra for a SUP on Friday or Saturday. Can anybody out there tell me where I should launch? Also if I fall in will I die from hypothermia within 20secs? I can only imagine how cold the water would be. Or maybe it is just too ridiculously cold this time of year for a SUP. Any info appreciated. cheers

You could launch at a number of spots around the lake. Quite a few launch around near yarralumla bay or around near where the kayakers launch up the molonglo. The water mmmm it's probably ok, most of the boys tell me they wear shorts and a jumper in winter and just don't fall in. If you did fall in you would have more like 90 seconds before you turned blue lol.
PM me when your in town if you like

Hook up with the guys from High Country SUP - Cougar Bait is your man. PM him.
They launch in front of RMC Duntroon from the Burley Griffin Canoe Club, off Morsehead Drive, at Molonglo Reach. The river is always protected from the wind but they usually paddle out onto the lake, down to Regatta Point and back.
Check the Forum Thread on the Club!

Thanks guys. Not sure if I will get to paddle now as wife has other plans. She seems to think museums, places of interest and fine dining are more important. I will take the board and see what pans out. thanks for the info. cheers
