Hi There
Going to Fiji in a months time with the family. Staying at the Naviti resort. Info on the resort states they have SUP boards for use. Wasn't planning on taking my board. Been searching the net to see if there is any surf around here or better still out the front of the resort. Doesn't appear to be. Any surf along this coast line appears to be very tidal dependent
Has anybody got any experience on SUP surfing around here.

Thanks and regards Dave

Dave I have just returned from a few weeks in Fiji checking out the options.
There are many reef breaks on the Coral Coast. Almost all are rideable 1-2 hours either side of high tide.
You are not far from The Beach House resort which has one of the few rights, just out front.
These guys also have a half decent range of boards to try and organise down wind runs
The Coral Coast is excellent for Down winders around high tide.
The general standard of SUP boards supplied by the resorts is pretty average.
Best to take your own board for surfing.

Thanks for the info AA
I was pretty sure the resort boards would be a bit ordinary but to save hassle's (Mrs and airlines) I would just use what was available if there was anything worth surfing on . If i get the chance i'll try and get to the place you mentioned

What sort of boards do they have for the downwind runs?

Fiji could could be a real downwind mecca but have not found anyone catering for it yet which is understandable given how niche it is. I took the Yasawa Flyer ferry up to the Yasawa island's last two years and there is always a consistent wind and big swell. Its a big catamaran and it had to slow down a couple of times. I was just staring out the thinking what could have been. Even my wife said I bet you wish you had your board.

Best to make contact with Andrew at the Beach House as the boards I tried might have been personal boards.
www.fijibeachouse.com/
They are putting together an order of SUNOVA's for next year which I am pretty sure will include touring boards.
