I'm heading to Blacksmith's Beach for the long weekend and haven't really been to that part of the coast before.

Anybody know of good places to surf a SUP around there? Are there any places that are off-limits (agro locals)?

Should be a small NE swell running and light winds.

You'll be right casso, no agros here in newy. I just live up the road from blackys so if you want to have a go on the DC16 or the Vortice XP give me a buzz. Usually paddle train in the channel early sat/sun mornings.

Sweet. Thanks guys. I'm up here now at the Blacky caravan park but it was dark when I got here so I couldn't check the set up out.

Simon, I'll be floating around the entrance, breakwall, beach from about 5:30am on tomorrow. Might see you there. Do I have to watch the tides in the channel? Does it get too strong to paddle against? I'll only be on an 11 footer.

I had really fun session out Swansea Channel yesterday morning. That's one awesome place to SUP - rippable waves, easy to get out, uncowded (had it to myself for two hours) picturesque and it picks up a fair amount of swell.

Went to Caves Beach this morning. Nice banks but pretty small swell and the wind was into it a bit. Had that to myself too - the lack of crowds up here is great.
