This was taken this afternoon off broken head with a pocket canon 10D

4 whales playing around us at the end of a downwind
Just had the time to get these 2 pics before the battery died on me. So pretty much missed all the action

Still a very good feeling to be out there. But never forget to recharge your battery!

champ, this was front page of today's Gold Coast Bulletin - I believe first time SUP has been on front page of a mainstream newspaper in Aus.
Whale encounters like that with SUPs are pretty common around here now, they are like big curious rats of the ocean, and there's more of them every year (the whales I mean but also the sups now i think about it)

Yeah,some elderly campers took it and ran up to me when I came in asking if I had email so they could send me the shots.This ones bit clearer,
