Well we have talked about it for long enough and things finally seems to be sitting warming up here in Sydney so its time for the Twilight SUP's!

It is really just an excuse to get a few crew together, make the most of daylight saving and paddle around our beautiful harbour. It could look like this-

Or it could look like this...

Whatever takes your fancy, join us on the eastern beach of the Spit at 6pm this Friday November 6th and again on the 20th of November.

Bring your own board and paddle and desire for a bit of exploration and away we go.

Then again you could just meet us at Skiffies afterwards from 7.30!

AA

PS: You will need to be 18 or over.
You must be able to swim 100 meters comfortably
YOU MUST WEAR A LEG ROPE AT ALL TIMES
and you will need to sign a piece of paper stating that you
are prepared to be have fun and be responsible for your own safety at all times.

MAte would love to do that when my leg's strong again for sure, but conflicts with the wife's tennis lesson In the holidays for sure!

I've done the paddle to Beauty Point and back starting from the opposite end at Cammeray. If you keep paddling up towards Northbridge you can check out a pretty cool shipwreck - although it might be a bit spooky in the twilight...

The leggie is to strap yourself to the bar stool so you don't fall off when you're pissed..

Yeah, it is a great place to paddle from - really central and heaps of options out of the wind. We will probably have two groups - sprinters and cruisers

Leggy is an obvious safety precaution - the Skiff club insists that every one straps themselves to the bar!

Seriously, I saw a board get away from a customer last weekend in just 8 knots - there is no way she was going to get to her board. At least with a leggy you are attached to your 'flotation device'!!

Hey JED, where is he wreck? That would be a cool thing to paddle around.

Once we get out legs we will do some introductory down winders in a S'easter from Balmoral to the Spit. it is an easy shuttle plus we have a boat if required.

Jay is in charge of this one and the girls from Paddle SurfFIT will be there.

Should be a good roll up and warm up for the Manly Surf Festival!

We start here-

That is the Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol hut to the right.

See you there!

Great idea AA, pity my flight doesn't get to Sydney until 9:30pm on Friday night or I'd be there for sure.

Hey AA, x marks the spot. The shipwreck's in a spot called Long Bay, directly below Northbridge golf course. It's actually a pretty good paddle that side of the bridge as pretty protected from the wind and swell.

I shall be hoping to make it - put the board through a rock last w/e and not getting it back until Friday - fingers crossed.

I shall be joining the cruising group if I get the board back in time.

I've moved over to the 'real' state!
Nah just keeping the paparazzi on their toes! Well spotted, mate!

Yeah grab the Gun - its the machine for this one.

Love a Treasure Hunt, Jed - thanks for the Map!

For those who might find 6pm a bit early the 'faster crew' will leave around 6.30 onwards.

See you there...

I Lie!

Its on again Friday Nov. 20th (and again 2 weeks later)!

Thought a bit more warning might be appreciated!

Think of it as a warm up for the MAMBO!

We had a good roll up despite the conditions and the Manly Festival being on the very next day! Every beach as deserted - it was like being down in some quiet inlet down the South Coast! Glassy paddle up and a down winder home - SWEEET!

We found an awesome Fish and Chip shop right by where we launch so it will be beers and prawns on the beach!

Seeyouz there!
