Just wondering if anyone has ever sailed an 11'4' Naish Sup? (the model from around 4 - 5 years ago).

I recently had a go on a 10'0 Fanatic in light winds and was surprised how much fun / stable it was. I hadn't windsurfed for years and was never great at it, but I own an 11'4 with a thread for a mast footing and the having a go on the Fanatic got me curious as to how the naish would sail.

Any input appreciated.

I've seen it done in light wind...IIRC it was user Deano72 threw a sail on one at a demo day late last year.

I've sailed the 11'4" Nalu a few years ago and it went well.. Not a board for planning though.

Thanks DJ - what wind strength do you think it could be sailed to - 15 Knots? Would it be better sailed in lighter winds?

I would say anything from 5-15 knots because any more you would need footstraps and risk damaging the board from the pounding.. It's pretty thin for such a long board.. The new 10'6".5 Nalu would be a better windsurfing board.. I hope to sail mine soon when we get the right conditions.

^^^ I've sailed my 11'6" Nalu & agree with DJ, a nice cruiser & very smooth, but not a planer. 5-15kts (max.), otherwise I'd be on a smaller board or jumping on the Nalu for a DWer.
