So Jonathan, have you figured out the ideal conditions in terms of when to go with the Surf Race and when the K15 suits best?
Unfortunately I had put a smaller fin on the Surf Race before the double runs yesterday, a 9" surf fin and it made the board hard to trim on a wave, just seemed to lose all it's drive. I think the rounded rails need a fin with some area to give the whole thing some grip, I'll try something bigger on the next down-winder. But even sorting out the fin I don't think it will ever come close to the K15 as a down-wind board, strangely for a race board the K15 seems to have plenty of rocker to stop the nose ploughing (not that it really matters with the piercing shape), plenty of momentum and is really easy to trim when you are on a wave, it's super stable and just flies - so much better than I expected. It will be very interesting to try it in bigger swell. So to answer the question actually haven't sorted out much at all yet, but having fun trying!
