Yes! Finally a big sand stirring front has nailed the beaches dragging all the sand out the back and turning 20 meters of sunbaking beach into something useful.

Definitely some fun to be had there - although the tides a a little too full / the gutters are a little TOO deep right now for sub 1m swells.

smokingly good today! Waited until the lower tides in the arvo to get the waves zipping thru the gutters.

really nice walled up rights into a channel -my first right was as good as any wave i've had at scarbs ever - head high , wally and flwoing- reminding me of the days when the banks really used to be good - back in the mid 90s.

reos and floaters galore! Some really nice power and flow in the wave. Should be nicely set up for some time now

even managed to bust the tail out on the 10'5 on a reo! Its feeling more and more like shortboard surfing as time goes on..

thats was super fun

S C O R E D the lago [Late Afternoon Glass Off], on an amazing purple sunset.

loving the colours of the ocean and the sky just after the sun drops,,,

Great waves , some longer than mettams ,, with loads more power and oil slick glassy

ate the sand bar a few times

the only downer was; that everytime i found a nice walling section, the shortboard magnet would automatically start after 2 or 3 waves... then i'd have the try hards getting no where apart from in my way

Damn thing has a max payload of 320kgs.Not sure about you Windy but Hilly and I must stay on the low carb beers a little longer to get a ride.It does have a parachute though...to save the plane (Cirrus sr22) not the passengers...I'm not joking

i am on the Starboard 10'5 and loving it.

Saw Windy out yesterday - looked like he was on the pick of the banks - uop the front of ob city- saw lots of shortboard crew on long rights - looked like he was getting plenty too.

Brighton wasnt as good yesterday as the bank has straightened up a little and the swell dropped out - still fun though. But quite a few closeouts. Bring on the next NW stir!

I get comments about riding sucky closeout waves at scarbs - the short story is that i dont.

The trick is to Simply monitor the tides , banks and swells so that you are not riding the SUP out there when its heaving (read board snapping) - Scarbs has plenty of days when its lacking in a little power for shortboards and waist to chest high with form - thats when it is gold. And relatively safe for the boards too..

Yesterday was a good example of that. There were waves from City beach all the way to Trigg point to be ridden.

Ive found a few fun waves to ride that are only swell and tide dependant.
Bits of reef that are normally not surfed so crowds are not even an issue.
This arvo I went to one of these waves and it was really good to its normal standards.
Some of the best SUP waves Ive got there.
Ive worked out that with a 0.5m Cott swell and a 1m Freo tide, this place pumps out very fast, waist to shoulder high, left handers. The take off spot is littered with bare rock and eventually breaks over weed covered reef. If you have enough speed you can make it past a little straight section and into a sandy channel.
Smaller days and it can be soul arching, knee high, peelers.
I love this place

super fun tonight at scarbs - it seems the low tides of an evening make the current bank configuration come alive!

Glass with an indo style sunset and 2 mates SUP surfing the peak- gold!! Some nice waist to shoulder sets coming through - fast lefts and rights. SUPPED till near dark- super stoked.

Couple of mals on to it and doing a nice job also.

PURE MAGIC.

Great advice Reflex.I checked it out with my little boy at 2 ish today and tres ordinaire.
Cove was barely breaking at Sunset. There was a big seal munching on squid/occy that kept us entertained though and the backdrop was amazing.
Rotto tomorrow should be sweet
