Well breezers, if you hav'nt meet him. he is the DOG MAN. He is one off the best stand up paddlers in Australia, as well as that one off the funnest guys to surf with.

But the question is the RED GATH HELMET. Is he starting to set a new trend in the SUP world? is this so his wife can spot him out in the water? Can naish make a special Wood grain one, but has to be red??. Will this fashion take off???? I don't think so. But some one that sticks torches on one to see at night at first point Noosa is an ideas man. But what it is, if you see a guy on a stand up in a red gath helmet, you know its Dog man or you know the trend has started(god save us), go and say hi you wont regret it.

I wanted to ad a picture off a crowd with some one in a red gath but had no luck. It would be like playing wheres Wally

The DOG MAN did one of the best floaters I have ever seen last week out at Tea Tree Noosa. One of the coolest kats out there for sure.

Yeah, the DOGMAN rips for sure!!
He is also maestro of 'working the pack' and gaining respect from everyone around him.
When I paddled out to Noosa points recently it soon became obvious that my 'sydney style' was not going to earn me any friends or get me any more waves. Watching DOGMAN just showed that you can hang back, sit wide, have a chat and still get plenty of waves.

He is setting an example that we can all look up to.

And also "gaining respect" by throwing buckets:

Hi everyone this is not my usual thing (forum writing) but I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I am the bitch who picks up Dogmans poo and has to pick fleas off myself regularly from sharing his kennel!

Dogman is loud, abnoxious, egotistical, loud, funny, loud and yes did i say loud? For those of you who have met him you would know this is an understatement!

You probably don't know realise why he is so loud...... he is a drummer and VERY DEAF! (for our first 10 years we had a drumkit next to our bed and our son Sabian is named after his fav cymbals)

About the RED GATH HELMET.......

allrounder.......

the helmet is not for his 'wife' to spot him (we are not married, I chose a surfboard over a ring!) and honestly after 14 very long years I would know his ugly muthead anywhere!!!! (sad but true!) and besides if I can't see him (because the torch batteries go flat) I can always hear him hooting!

SO THE TRUTH BEHIND THE RED GATH HELMET is ................

......... it is to keep his easily inflated head in check for when he is in and out of the surf ... .... I had to implement this a few years back as after every 'best ever' surf session I got sick of going home on the roof racks with the boards as I couldn't fit in the Kombie with him and his ego...(again sad but true!)

So anyway here he is....... I just uploaded some older footage on to youtube of the Dogman surfing in the early days of his RED GATH HELMET!(no decent sup footage yet)

Aside from his many, many flaws which I would love to list but i think I need to go to a different 'whinging womans' forum for that, he is ok!

There is no one better to surf with than the Dogman and him calling you onto a wave and then hooting you, even if it is only 1/4 of a foot and in white wash!

oh yeah and for all of these 'nice' piss in his pocket, comments i wonder if the kids and I will be sleeping on the verandah tonight..... or should i start making him wear THE GATH inside the house too

xx

Strange thing is that Doggy's young daughter is the most placid, quiet, smiley, cute baby you can imagine - must take after her Mum!

yo dudes

well after reading this thread i think the helmet wont fit anymore from my swelled head that is until the missus bust its bubble a bit like the hindenburge air balloon. I obviously will need the next couple of sizes up (of course I will accept a free RED GATH HELMET possibly with a NAISH WOOD GRAIN FINISH)

allrounder ...lol.... the red helmet brigade is spreading as i just saw someone on OG SUP's video (i love my PSH 10'6 wide) @ 1:27 the dude paddles out on his knees and gets nailed by the white wash...(scarey stuff will the red helmet disease become an epidemic)

casso, what on earth have you done, you have stolen my number one fan and she is insisting that you teach me the "casso" move and that MY moves are crappy, gutless and weak and also your secret is out i know she wished YOU luck in our second heat in Noosa which you kicked my flea riddled hairy ass in, WTF ...lol...

thanks for the pics and comments everyone

robbo... apart from needing airbags to land safe back on land after reading the comments i definately needed the air bags big time in noosa as i got dropped in on so much that after a while i ended up just calling the crew on that wanted to droppin into the waves and surf behind them...sharing is caring...lol...

after a while the dropping in slowed down a bit

AA... how fun was ti tree on monday and im working on a led light setup for the helmet that has a bit more candle power so i'll look something like a cowboys ute spotlight setup for next year...lol...that was so good surfing little point in the darkness

after watching the start of the video of me surfin the old 80's board "johnny barnes" 5'3 that i borrowed off a mate and didnt want to give back (with the music cranking!!!)makes me wish i still had that board as his kids now use it to balance on top of a exercise ball and the fins are now smashed

i loved that board

but since getting into sup i havent even wanted to pull out my short board from the shed unless im kiting on it

you'll keep dogmans bitch

later dogman

nice find DJ

yo allrounder

fluro vest collection now that is scarey

dont know if I can pull off the hardcore facial the dude in the pic is pulling but i've got a bit of time between now and then to perfect a few stud poses like that

yo session

the scariest thing about when i got barrelled on migaloo the white whale is that I had been swapping boards and had just jumpped off a 10'6 and paddled back out when I noticed that i had taken my helmet off on the beach (it was like one of those dreams that you go to school and then you realise you have no clothes on) i was NAKED!!!!!

ended up getting a few then caught a real nice one way out wide and pulled a big cutty back into the section as it walled up nice i then realised sh@t i'm committed and people were scrambling every where to get outta the way so i just held the line i had while thinking oh no i'm gonna kill my self and at least 50 other people

the next set was just as good so i tried it again but ate it so bad and had the board graze my naked melon HEAVY AS

went straight in ditched the whale for a different board and grabbed the brain bucket
