I recently got into Stand Up Paddling and purchased a 11'2 Starboard, which I love. I am now however enjoying downwinders and point to point SUPing and have been looking at 12'6" and 14' board sizes over east (new and second hand).

I have been close to buying one however the shipping is always a deal breaker. For a 14 foot board I was looking at $300 to $400 shipping to Perth WA from east coast.

Does anyone know of a cheaper/better alternative.

Also since I cannot demo them it is a bit of a leap of faith that the board is good (although Seabreeze forums help alot with that).

Please can any one provide any help / experience on shipping and who you used?

Thanks

sent me your email address to my phone and I will send some pics. if you like it it is yours for $1750.00 freighted to W.A. door to door delivery.

400 bux sounds very pricey for a board...

you can get your own 20ft container 33 cubic meters (50+sups), sent from east to west for 1400$... and thats door to door..

try toll priority charge on cubic meterage, which i imagine on a sup wouldn't be a fortune.
if you drop and pick up from depot instead of going door to door you will also save a lot of $$$

make sure you pack very well and cover it in fragile stickers.

transit insurance is about 20 bux for ever grand.

Shipping the Penetrator from Noosa to Melbourne cost $380 with a furniture removalist!!! I actually thought about driving up there but gave in in the end. Still seems crazy but arrived without a mark on it - it's just one of those things I try not to think about now.......
