Well there wasnt a lot to choose from today so after a few recces we went to secret spot number 16.

When we paddled out at dead low it was sketchy to say the least,Kristi did extremely well in the conditions. The reef was ridiculously shallow (ankle depth in places), so shallow that Kristi ground down her FG5s to FG 4.5s lol. Next wave Kristi ripped the center fin out of the FCS finbox adaptor. No serious damage done thank goodness, by the way the FCS center fin floated that how we found it.

The intrepid Crew!

Kristi Just before she hit the reef and ripped the center fin out.

Rich on his best wave of the day.

This bottom turn sucked dry seconds later.[}:)]

This unknow paddler got the wave of the day

Mr Chompy ( a big Thresher) was jumping up to 4 feet out of the water in the back ground and eventually convinced us to leave the water PMSL

Awesome fun

Great pictures Phill.. Lucky there was no board damage.. You should see the dinged up fin in my Naish 11'4" from shallow days at The Pines..

Was that guy on the Bonga Wes Green?

No Idea who he was DJ,

Nesha took 4 or 5 cracking pics of him, really mind lowing shots in full res!

Just to get on the wave with 25 - 30kn offshore was an epic task. You had to sit alomost on the rocks and get down the line microseconds after take off or you would have two 4'8s lol.

Hey Paul,

No it was a very big thresher shark!

Camo with Balls of Steel still went out when he got there laughs.

If you every wanted to know how stable and how agile the 9'6WAA and Ripper are well they proved their worth and then some today!

Just trying to stand up was a chore and paddling onto waves was at times almost impossible.

If you didnt get your A$$ down the line straight away you got your lunch in Hawaiian " BIG SAND".

Phill,
I was staying real close to the shallow reef until a couple of longboarders paddled out and I had them between me and Chompy.Later one of the guy's asked is that a seal out there, and I said nup its a shark, they didn't sit so far out the back after that.

Hope the knee heals quick Phill, looked like you had a tennis ball strapped to it with the size of the swelling.
Cheers,
Camo.

The Knee is fine but I will be out of the water for a while i think. Getting ice on it fast helped and I have some great anti inflams from by back injury, add a couple of glasses of red and I am comfortable infront of the fire lol.

We told the long boarders about the shark and they laughed, one of them came back in pretty fast though!

Look forwrd to surfing with you again soon Cam, it was great fun!

Boarder Paul, if you look at the first pick is shows you the 9'6s side my side. Rich I think is about 83 -85 and my wide ass is 105.
