Hey guys,
If anyone is interested in sharing their SUP paddles,DW'ers, Flatwater, Races etc Then download the Runkeeper App on your smartphone, shove it in a waterproof bag and take it on you next paddle.
Share your distance covered, average speed, top speed and actual route taken via GPS map.
Reckon it would add a whole new facet to keeping in touch with all the SUP action, including bragging rights for longest distance, fastest average pace and top speeds etc
Any how here is the link for my Paddle today:

Cheers all!!

Yeah I am a little suspect about the elevation reading, it may be a bit off but then I am paddling up river over 5km so that would equate to a rise of about 3meters every kilometer, which is still quite viable for the rise over that distance. But I don't think I'll read toouch into the elevation in any of my workout calculations.
I was impressed at hitting nearly 9kph briefly a couple of times and sustaining an overall average of about 7kph!
But then I have no bench mark from other paddlers yet, so these speeds, times and distances could actually really be pretty poor... Haha hopefully some of you guys will give this Runkeeper a go :)

Yea actually the whole time thing is confusing me. I did 3.2 k the other day in 27 mins, but I'm not sure if that's fast or slow. I have been told that elite paddlers for SUP are averaging 7 knots for an average but I can't find anything that would give me a benchmark.

That seems about right for a steady pace 6kph for the average paddler on reasonable flat water conditions.
Wow I would love to sea some average flat water speeds for the elite paddlers over say about 5k's cause if they are pulling 7 knots, that 13kph!! Double what I was able to maintain today over 10kms. But then I'm 40 and have only been SUPing for 2weeks.
Perhaps after a few months I can improve?
