That's great..But a real bummer for the 99.9% of keen SUP'ers that don't have a board that long.

Here's we go again.... there's an echo on this forum !! Moffits..Moffits..Moffits...

That's why you and I came up with "Choose your Weapon" remember Oliver. And you're in Victoria anyway.. ??

Might be a good chance for all the new 16's & 18's produced over the last few weeks to have a test drive. It's in a Bay so not so much ground swell apparently but lots of wind chop directly behind you. The OC1's said last year it was the best race of their season. Could be fun.

Oh,oh, Sue it's starting again, how can they say, up to 18' unlimited? If it's up to 18', then that's limited and leaves the new craft that I have worked so hard on out of the race 'coz it's 18'8".................Now I don't understand........Stuey

I don't know Stuey..ask Woogie, he wrote the original version for Moffits. I just "cut", "paste", "edit" and "post". I'll edit the above cause you know what, the Outrigger Officials don't really know these craft and I don't think they are too strict about it. We're a minority. So lets make it 14' and above !! There I just made myself an Official !!

Just grab some more V from the servo tomorrow Stuey...that will give you the strength. I drink it just to stay up late enough to explain everything to Oliver

Let's see if we can beat "Moffits" 4210 reads with "Shorncliffe". We only have 2 days though as the race is on this Saturday.

I don't know, the newspapers came to the 572 launch yesterday and I just saw tomorrows edition. I think I'm gonna have to spend the next 2 days explaining their "story" they even gave my son to Woogie! Do I have to do everything myself?

Oliver I know you just love poking the Tiger but between Moffits and The Seaway to Seaway race there will be another 3/ DC16's ,Stuey's 18'8 , Clarkys 18 , Mick Debettas' 18 and now Jacko's & Jakes 18 plus Sues 14 , so thats another 7 boards which will be racing so it's growing fast (very fast) and the guys who can't afford to buy a production board are making there own.

So there will be 6 different designed boards in the one race ,isn't it great to part of something at the beginning with all this R&D going into this sport. Now is not the time to restrict it but encourage new designs untill we end up with the ultimate Down Wind weapon.

Thanks Sue - would love to be there, just got back from a week away for work, and am totally tied up tomorrow. The 15-20kt northerly wind should make this run a blast (plus no dumping shorebreak to lug 14ft boards through). Hope it goes well for everyone else in it! I'll try to be at the other ones assuming they all have a downwind run.

As there seems to be no interest in the event tomorrow other than Stuart who can't make it and let me know, I'll stop my efforts even if they seem to be getting somewhere. Despite not hearing from anyone all day I did track down the Race Director and talked to him about the Race for SUP

I have managed to convince him to change the board requirements and he has confirmed that ANY SIZE BOARD CAN RACE. I'm still waiting for a phone call from him again tonight re: Shortening the Race to 8km from 15.5km. It was an after thought on my part particularly with Stock Boards. 15.5km seems too long. Not Sure if it's logically possible for them to shorten our race. They may have to run it at a different time to the outriggers.

But looks like no-one is available or keen so I'll leave it be.

P.S. Thanks to whoever gave my original post about this race a "thumbs down vote". Have a good weekend

Good on you for your efforts Sue, don't give up whatever you do and keep on pushing. I'm certainly going to, it won't take long before people start to get a grasp of what is actually going on out there and before you know it you will be having to limit the races to the first 200 entries, it's heading that way in Hawaii right now..............Stuey

There is no doubt it seems the go. Just trying to work out which toy in the shed may get displaced and if its worth owning such a craft in Adelaide when usually I paddle on my own anyway. Friggin waverunner is playing up and havnt had a tow in for 6 months so it may be a gonner but geeze its a lot of fun.....wait and see.
